Essentials of Anti-Corruption is a six-week online module for professionals, students, and practitioners seeking to strengthen their understanding of corruption and anti-corruption strategies. Organized into four units, the module examines the forms, causes, and effects of corruption, along with anti-corruption approaches and international frameworks. Through conceptual and technical discussion, supported by practical exercises, participants develop the analytical and applied skills needed to identify suitable anti-corruption approaches. No prerequisite is required. As an overview module, it integrates concepts and practice to provide a foundation in anti-corruption. For advanced study, see Applied Anti-Corruption: Concepts, Cases, and Practice, scheduled for 2027. By the end of the training, participants will be able to: • explain the definitions, causes, and effects of corruption; • identify entry points and appropriate anti-corruption actions; • analyze anti-corruption responses from broad, sector-specific, and management perspectives; • examine key themes in selected international anti-corruption frameworks and methods for monitoring corruption and anti-corruption efforts; • apply approaches for mapping anti-corruption strategies. Practice exercises are incorporated throughout the six-week module. Weekly assignments include pre- and post-lecture self-tests, reflective responses, and peer interaction. The study of anti-corruption extends beyond conceptual understanding by strengthening participants’ capacity to analyze problems and identify practical solutions.
